Rekindle Your Inner Child
Rekindle Your Inner Child is an initiative led by HSTAR Scotland, in partnership with Scots Recovery from Childhood Abuse, and supported by the SOCAS Fund. Our project is dedicated to empowering adult survivors of childhood abuse in the Forth Valley region.
Our Services:
* Mental Health Wellbeing Clinic: We offer complimentary emotional support tailored to meet the needs of survivors.
* 1-2-1 Counselling Sessions: Engage in personalised counselling to address your unique experiences and challenges.
* Relaxation and Mindfulness Groupwork: Participate in group sessions focused on stress reduction and mindfulness.
* Resilience and Empowerment Sessions: Access peer support to help navigate your journey to recovery.
We aim to create a healing environment with trauma-sensitive and person-centred support for those dealing with past trauma, abuse, and mental health issues. Our focus is on empowering survivors, encouraging active participation in our services, and incorporating their voices into our charity work and service delivery.
We are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of Forth Valley residents and their communities. Our goal is to provide a better future for survivors of trauma or abuse and their families through responsive counselling, therapy support, and mental health advocacy. We strive to promote equality, diversity, and empower women to overcome isolation and engage actively as citizens in Scotland.
Counselling Services
At Rekindle Your Inner Child, we understand the importance of personalised support on the path to healing. That’s why we offer twelve one-to-one therapy sessions tailored just for you. These sessions are led by a dedicated team of qualified therapists and therapists in training, all registered with BACP or COSCA, who have a wealth of experience in helping individuals overcome trauma and abuse from the past.
To ensure that our services are as accessible as possible, you can choose to meet with a counsellor face-to-face in Stirling, Falkirk, or Alva. However, if you prefer the comfort of your own space, we also provide the option of online or telephone sessions. This flexible approach ensures that everyone has the opportunity to receive the support they need, regardless of their circumstances.
Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing Support
Your mental health and emotional wellbeing are at the heart of everything we do. Our friendly and compassionate support team is here to help you build the skills necessary to navigate life's challenges with resilience and confidence.
Led by registered Mental Health Nurses and supported by accomplished postgraduate psychology students, our services cover a range of practical coping strategies and stress management techniques. Whether you prefer to attend sessions in person or join us virtually from the comfort of your home, we are committed to providing you with the support you need in a manner that feels most comfortable and convenient for you.
Mindfulness and Relaxation Group Sessions
Our Mindfulness and Relaxation Group Sessions offer a warm and welcoming environment dedicated to your healing journey. Held monthly, these sessions are thoughtfully tailored to meet the unique needs of both female and male survivors. We aim to create a safe space where you can relax, connect with others who have shared similar experiences, and learn holistic approaches to wellbeing.
During these sessions, we gently guide you through mindfulness techniques and relaxation exercises that are designed to help you find peace and calm within yourself. Whether you're new to these practices or have some experience, you will find our supportive community a comforting place to explore and nurture your inner strength.
Resilience and Empowerment Sessions
Our Resilience and Empowerment Sessions are here to help you rebuild and enhance your self-confidence and self-worth. These monthly online meetings bring together a community of survivors who, like you, are on a path of healing and growth. Led by our passionate staff members and dedicated volunteers, all of whom specialise in mental health and trauma recovery, the sessions focus on providing practical strategies and emotional support for overcoming the impact of childhood trauma. Here, you will find a supportive network that encourages your journey towards resilience and empowers you to embrace your true potential.
These sessions not only provide guidance but also foster a sense of community, reminding you that you are not alone on your journey to healing.
What Should You Know before making referral
At HSTAR Scotland SCIO and Scots Recovery from Childhood Abuse SCIO, we hold a deep respect for your privacy and confidentiality. We understand the sensitive nature of counselling discussions and inquiries, and we are committed to maintaining the utmost discretion. Any information you share with us will be treated as strictly confidential. We will never disclose your details to anyone outside our charity without your explicit written permission. However, in rare instances where there is a credible risk of harm, we may need to breach this confidentiality to ensure your safety.
Our mission is to provide trauma-informed and trauma-responsive therapy, free of charge, to eligible survivors across the Forth Valley. Once you have completed an intake assessment and we have confirmed your eligibility, we are pleased to offer up to 12 therapy sessions at no cost to you.
We welcome referrals from anyone aged 16 and above who resides in Scotland and is currently in a safe personal environment. Typically, there may be up to a 6-week waiting period from the time we receive your referral until your first therapy session. Your initial Intake Assessment call will be scheduled within 4 weeks of the referral date. During this process, we will match you with the most suitable therapy modality based on your individual healing needs and the availability of our therapists.
It is possible that you may be paired with therapists in training who are completing their placements with us. Please be assured that all our student therapists undergo thorough screening, hold adequate insurance, are members of COSCA or BACP, and benefit from comprehensive supervision.
To help you receive the most effective support, we require that weekly sessions are scheduled, as we do not offer flexible or biweekly options. For individuals eligible for our free therapy services, we ask for a refundable deposit of £30. This deposit will be promptly returned to your nominated bank account within 14 working days following the conclusion of your final session with us. Please note, this refundable deposit scheme does not apply to partially funded therapy.
Lastly, to ensure you receive the most focused care from us, it is important that you are not receiving any other counselling support at the time of the REKINDLE YOUR INNER CHILD referral.
We are here to support you on your journey to healing and look forward to being part of your path to recovery.
